8th Annual Recycling Drive

2013 Electronics Recycling Drive at Lyons Township High School

Saturday, May 18, 9am to Noon

The WSCCI Foundation is pleased to announce that their successful Computer Recycling Drive will return in 2013 on Saturday, May 18, with increased opportunities to grow environmental awareness.

Recyclables will be accepted at south campus. At the drive through/drop off on the south end, the following items will be accepted:


Computers, towers, monitors, laptops, TVs, VCRs, DVD Players and Recorders, Toasters, Fax Machines and Scanners, Desktop Printers, Keyboards, Computer Mice and Cables, Portable Digital Music Players, PDAs, Video Game Consoles, Digital Converter Boxes, Satellite Receivers, Small Scale Servers, Cell Phones, Brass Fittings, Bronze, Copper.

At the north entrance of the LTHS south campus, and along the circle drive, event partners will accept additional items. Kiwanis will accept eyeglasses. Community Nurse Health Association will accept clothing and cloth for textile recycling. Working Bikes will accept bicycles, and SCARCE will accept school supplies (notebooks, paper, crayons, pens, pencils, rulers, markers), musical instruments, eyeglasses and cases, yarn, keys, cork, inkjet cartridges.

In addition, free document shredding will be provided by Republic Bank.

The Recycling Drive begins at 9 am and closes at noon.

The Drive collects some 50,000 pounds of recycling annually, providing a free, local alternate to landfill waste and unethical export of hazardous waste.
